This Privacy Policy explains how vPlato ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data through this pre-launch website, where you can join our founding-members list. It is written with the EU and UK GDPR in mind. vPlato has not yet launched; this site exists to share what's coming and to let you reserve early access.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for this site is [vPlato — legal entity name and registered address]. For anything to do with your privacy, you can reach us at hello@vplato.app.
What we collect
- The email address you submit when you join the founding-members list. We add it to our subscriber list only after you submit it.
- Limited technical data your browser sends automatically — such as IP address, device and browser type, and timestamps — recorded in standard server logs.
We don't ask for any other personal information, and we do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To send you founding-member emails — a confirmation, your early access and free recipe pack, and a note when we open. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. One email at launch, then we stay quiet.
- To keep the site secure and working (server logs). Legal basis: our legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in running a safe, reliable service.
We do not use your data for any automated decision-making or profiling.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share your email only with the service provider that stores our list and sends our emails, acting as our processor under contract and only on our instructions. If that provider is located outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — for the transfer.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until vPlato launches and for a reasonable period afterward, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it's inaccurate;
- have it deleted;
- restrict or object to how we process it;
- receive it in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time — this doesn't affect processing we carried out before you withdrew it.
You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO; in the EU, your national supervisory authority). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@vplato.app or use the unsubscribe link in any email we send. We aim to respond within one month.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above reflects the most recent version.
